With overwhelm and bad news everywhere I look, I have literally stopped watching the nightly news (since the election, actually!) Surrounding myself with positivity and inspiration has become more important than ever. There are a few shows that I have found to be uplifting, refreshing, and inspiring.

Growing Floret
{Disovery+}
Why I love it: If you're into flowers, entrepreneurship, or just rooting for the underdog with a dirt-smudged dream, Growing Floret is your next binge-worthy gem. Yes, it’s technically a documentary about a female flower farmer, but it’s also a masterclass in passion-driven business. The storytelling? 🌸 Gorgeous. The visuals? So stunning you’ll want to frame your TV.
The way the show is structured feels less like passive viewing and more like guided personal growth—like they handed you a bouquet and snuck in a self-reflection journal. If you’re a listener of my podcast Home Space and Reason, you know I love digging into deeper questions and chewing on meaningful ideas. This show? It hands you a shovel and says, “Let’s go.” And trust me, it delivers in spades.

The Lost Kitchen
{Discovery+}
Why I love it: The Lost Kitchen is one of those rare shows that quietly sneaks into your heart and rearranges the furniture. Yes, it’s a documentary about a female restaurateur, and yes, it’s also a business story—but it’s so much more than that. Think Growing Floret’s soul, but swap the flower fields for a tiny, candlelit restaurant tucked into an unlikely Maine town.
Erin French doesn’t just cook—she creates experiences. This isn’t your standard how-to-cook series 🌽 (no step-by-step soufflés here), but somehow, you still walk away inspired to roll up your sleeves, light a candle, and make dinner feel magical. The show invites you to witness her real-life highs and lows, her grit and grace, and the deeply human beauty of building something special from scratch. It’s a love letter to food, place, and perseverance—with a side of goosebumps.

Getting Lost with Erin French
{Discovery +}
Why I love it: It feels like a road trip with your wisest, warmest, most food-loving friend—who also happens to be a world-class chef. 📍 In this documentary-style series, Erin and her husband trade the cozy kitchen of The Lost Kitchen for an off-season culinary adventure across the country.
Their mission? To explore new places, meet incredible chefs, and gather inspiration one bite at a time. Each town brings a handful of restaurants, a regional specialty, and a local chef ready to share their secrets. It’s a celebration of diversity, creativity, and the connective power of food.
Erin’s authenticity radiates through the screen—you don’t just watch her; you root for her, learn with her, and wish she lived next door (same). We even tracked down a few of the Portland spots she visited—and yes, they were just as magical.
The thing these shows have in common, is that they are all products of Magnolia Network and you can feel the difference. They strive for authenticity and connection. We need more of that in our lives. This is a love letter to you and the great job you have done. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The next two are equally peaceful and grounding, but in a different way. These are more design-centric. I like having these on in the background if the house is feeling quiet and I'm working on something that allows me to still half watch and listen too. (I watched them with my full attention the first time through!)

Storefront Stories
{Discovery+}
Why I love it: This show is for every one of us who’s ever daydreamed about opening a tiny shop—complete with signage, curated goods, and an espresso machine humming in the background. (Just me?)
This bite-sized series is a delightful hop across the U.S., with quick visits to charming and unexpected shops in New York, Oregon, Texas, and California. Each episode is like a little postcard from a place you didn’t know you needed to see—complete with the story behind the storefront, told by the entrepreneurs who made it happen. 💌
It’s like snacking on mini documentaries without the time commitment of a full-blown binge. Inspiration, charm, and design envy all rolled into one adorable, efficient package? Yes, please.

Beach Cottage Chronicles
{Discovery+}
Why I love it: I am the person who often walks through neighborhoods wishing I could knock on people's doors asking for a tour. This is like that, but at the beach. Fair warning: once you have watched, you will absolutely be convinced that you need a beach house. 🐚 Set in dreamy coastal spots, this short-form documentary series invites you into real beach homes, guided by the homeowners themselves. They share how each space came to be—from quirky renovations and inherited treasures to touching tributes to loved ones who shaped the home’s soul.
It’s visual storytelling at its finest, with a blend of sweeping beach views and cozy, thoughtful details. Heartwarming, inspiring, and 100% inspiring content.
One might think this is a sponsored post by Discovery+. It’s not! Yes, I have Netflix and Max, but they don’t quite offer the uplifting morsels of content I crave. So when it’s time to wind down and park myself in front of the TV for a bit, I find myself back on Discovery+ watching Magnolia where the stories are rich, the visuals are beautiful, and the inspiration feels real. ✨ Much like what I do for homeowners and business owners, I keep saying, people want to FEEL something. 💚
Have you stumbled upon a show you think I’d love? Let me know—I’m always looking to add to my watchlist. Thanks for being here, friends. Here’s to thoughtful content, cozy evenings, and shows that leave us just a little better than they found us.
What’s does the best version of your life look like? Are you setting yourself up to succeed? How the next twelve months roll out will depend on how you choose to think and frame your goals. We can make intentional decisions about the spaces inside and outside of our homes so that it positively influences us and who we become. I have a podcast episode on this subject that you might enjoy and I'll link it below for you, friends.
